October is a busy month for most janitor supply distributors; however, 4 State Maintenance Supply in Coffeyville, Kansas pulled their entire sales staff off the road while they attended a one day educational workshop on Green Cleaning. This one day educational event facilitated by the Green Clean Institute (www.GreenCleanInstitute.com) was held at the 4 State Maintenance Supply (http://www.4statemaint.com/) offices and was attended by their sales staff as well as one individual from Arizona.
All students of the GCI-Technician course, held on October 14th, passed two different tests in order to earn their certification and badges. They are now certified at the first level of their new green awareness education. Clients in the Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas region, of which 4 States services, will be seeing a new insignia the fellows will be sporting this coming week. One of the owners, Tom Tipton tells me he intends to continue this education in December through Live Regional Education of this GCI-Technician course for his clients and the GCI-Manager course for his staff. When asked if this is like any other courses on Green, the graduates pointed out there were a difference in the facts instructed as this was personal information with regard to health and not product focused.
The Technician education certification class is designed for use by the frontline user of products, procedures, equipment and supplies. The intent is for the graduate of our course to be able to first use what they currently own in a more green and healthy way. As a client’s Green awareness increases and budget allows, they will be informed on how best to move their programs to be Healthy and Green.
If you are a user of product, services, equipment or programs we would ask you to contact the staff at 4 States Maintenance Supply, www.4statemaint.com/contact-us.aspx to Green your program.

Green Clean Institute encourages you to contact us and see if there is a Live Regional Education class scheduled for your area or to be the sponsor of this new adult education for custodial health services.
